Livestock Guardian Dogs

Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian dogs offer us the blessing of having a predator free environment. The Pyrs live with the pygmies and keep them safe. It's amazing to experience this symbiotic fellowship between Great Pyrenees and goats...not to mention that they give the best hugs and kisses!
We love this breed and are working towards growing our family of Pyrs.
Our Great Pyrenees are OFA Certified and full panel health tested.
Great Pyrenees are fearless guardians that in an instant will be across the pasture confronting whatever threat is there. At the same time they are gentle and loving and can be so tender with tiny charges like newborns. They also make great pets!

Great Pyrenees female, Xiomara, helping a pygmy doe clean off her newborn kid. Sometimes the goats like to be stealth and have their kids out in the field instead of the Life House. No problem with Xiomara on patrol!

Caspian was our first Great Pyrenees.
He taught us about fencing that works and doesn't work, about trusting that these guys do a great job, about dogs that love their humans even while they are living 24/7 with the goats.
He will come inside to say hello for a minute
but then would rather be outside. He's got work to do!
He was well into his 13th year when we lost him.
He went peacefully, cuddled with his goats.
They stayed with him until I got there,
such a picture of trust and solidarity.
He is very much missed.
